Monthly Album Recap - March 2026
I wanted to start personally logging my music. Below is a combination of new releases and some albums I loved back in 2018. Bold good, italics for stinkers.
New Spins

Harry Styles - Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally
What a turd of an album. at least do something interesting!
Mitski - Nothing’s About to Happen to Me
The more albums she releases, the safer she gets
Sweet Pill - Still There’s a Glow
Consistent sadness with good to great production.
Buck Meek - The Mirror
I see why Lenker leads Big Thief
Nothing - short history of decay
Background noise, the musical.
deathcrash - Somersaults
Slowcore emo with post rock elements is not something I thought I needed.
Peaches - No Lube So Rude
Chapelle Roan/Sabrina Carpenter’s eventual career pivot
Mod Lang - Borrowed Time
This is just 60s rock cosplay, and will eventually become the soundtrack to your local brewery/coffee shop.
Pileup - Leave The Light On
Now, this is good shoegaze! Varied on the production enough to make it fresh throughout.
Doll Spirit Vessel - Bow
Grandiose bedroom pop? tries to feel intimate, mostly feels small. some good riffs.
underscores - U
This is accessible 100 Gecs, and that's not shade.
Avalon Emerson - Written into Changes
Whimsy pop that is going to be a great soundtrack to an upcoming coming of age movie.
Ladytron - Paradises
This is what people think of when they say electronic pop all sounds the same.
Kim Gordon - PLAY ME
I abode by the recommendation of the album title, but it only made me ask, "Sonic Youth can do bad trap?"
James Blake - Trying Times
Mans really knows his lane, does it well, and makes me go back to listening to earlier stuff for that dopamine hit.
Robyn - Sexistential
Only needs 30 minutes to remind you how great she can put together a capital "P" pop album.
Re-Listens

Bright Eyes - Down in the Weeds, Where the World Once Was
Still holds up as a solid emo album. Nothing wildly differentiating, but never a bad time.
King Krule - Man Alive!
He really made most of the post-rock craze from the late 2010s and most of that music doesn’t hold up
Jessie Ware - What’s Your Pleasure?
My pleasure is this album.
U.S. Girls - Heavy Light
Slow draining indie rock/pop that has its moments.
Empty Country - Empty Country
Reverbed out for a great time.
